5-speed fan speed controller with built-in relay to control an external gas valve. The ideal fan controller for kitchen extractor hoods for AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum motor current is 13 A. The fan speed can be set via the built-in rotary switch. An optional pressure switch or differential pressure switch is required to detect the air flow. If the air flow is not detected within 60 seconds of starting the motor, the relay output is switched off to stop the gas supply. Local safety regulations often stipulate that gas may only be supplied after the hood has been activated above the stove. This makes the SFPR1 series the ideal fan speed controller for industrial extractor hoods! If the motor is equipped with a thermal protection, the TK monitoring function can switch off the power supply to the motor in the event of overheating. The motor can be started via the built-in rotary switch or remotely via an external switch. After a power failure, the motor automatically restarts. The supply voltage is 230 VAC. The IP54 housing is suitable for indoor surface mounting.

5-position speed controller with autotransformer(s)
The SFPR1 series are speed controllers for single-phase motors. The SFPR also has versions for three-phase motors. The position controllers for single-phase motors have one autotransformer, the versions for three-phase motors have 2 autotransformers. You can select one of the 5 speeds using the built-in switch. Autotransformer technology or autotransformer technology is very reliable and robust . It generates a motor voltage with a perfect sinusoidal shape, just like the mains voltage. This results in exceptionally quiet motor operation and a longer service life. A special impregnated coating reduces the electrical noise of the autotransformers.Gas valve control
The relay output is intended to control an external gas supply valve . The gas supply is only switched on when the extractor fan is active. If no air flow is detected within 60 seconds, the gas supply valve is closed. A pressure relay or pressure switch must be connected to the FL input. This is not included in the scope of delivery. For example, the PSW200 can be used for this.Remote start-stop
By means of a built-in make or break contact connection you can switch the device on and off remotely. For example, you can connect a single-pole switch, a timer, a contact of your fire alarm, etc. to this.

Unregulated output
The SFPR series has an additional unregulated output (230 VAC). This is active as soon as the motor is switched on. It can be used to control an external operating indicator, a damper, etc.
For example, if the fan is switched off, the dampers are closed. If the fan is active, the damper opens.

Thermal motor protection
If your motor is equipped with a TK connection for its thermal protection, you can connect this TK to the STRA1 controller. As soon as the motor overheats, it opens its TK contact, causing the STRA1 to stop supplying power to the motor. After this, you can look for the cause of this overheating. This is usually because the motor draws too much current, which in turn is caused by, for example, a blockage, friction, defective bearings, etc.

Automatic reset after power failure
In the event of a power failure, the device will automatically restart as soon as power is available again.

Solid housing
The housing of the models up to 7.5 A is made of high-quality r-ABS plastic. This material is exceptionally heat-resistant, very strong and offers good protection against shocks. Models above 7.5 A are made of high-quality steel. Both housings offer IP54 protection against the ingress of dirt, dust and moisture and are suitable for wall mounting indoors.
