Aroma
The aroma is intense, with subtle hints of Bourbon and Cognac present in the beer. Fragrances of vanilla, almond, dried plum, and nutmeg are clearly noticeable.
Colour
La Trappe Quadrupel Batch 50 presents itself with a dark amber color, much darker than the regular Quadrupel. The head is beige with very fine carbonation bubbles.
Taste
The taste can be described as full-bodied, warm, and velvety smooth. The beer's base note is pleasantly sweet, especially due to the high alcohol content of 12.5%. The bitterness is lower than the regular Quadrupel and has been pushed more into the background. In the aftertaste, the alcohol is clearly present, and as the beer warms, the oak flavor becomes more prominent, making the beer more tannin-rich, with a gentle vanilla touch.
